"My mother lived in her Brooklyn home since 1953. After raising her family and residing there after my father passed away in 1990, she had accumulated a lot of stuff. In 2012 she could no longer live on her own and decided it was time to move in with us in New Jersey and dissolve her estate. With taking care of her medical and personal business, working my job, and looking through all the years of my childhood memories, the magnitude of the task was just too much for me to handle physically and emotionally. I had no idea where to begin, I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between some of the valuables and the trash. Adam and his family stepped in and took care of all of it. He and his family kept me in the loop from start to finish and I didn’t have to go back and forth at all. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, professional, courteous, considerate and thorough. With them involved Mom and I had confidence and peace of mind immediately. They brought us the things that we wanted to keep, got rid of all the junk and ran an estate sale for the rest and they did it all very quickly. When they were finished, the house was completely emptied, cleaned and ready for sale. I was absolutely amazed at their efficiency. The house sold one day after putting it on the market and I owe it all to the Waltz family. I can honestly say there’s no one like them in the business. "Adam was wonderful. I had previously contacted several estate sale companies and no one was able to meet my needs. The house I sold was due to close on April 30th, and I needed to liquidate all furnishings by the closing date. Adam was very responsive to my needs and he gave me a fair price for the entire contents of the house. He even brought me Easter candy - such a nice touch! I felt like he really cared and was just not looking for a quick buck, as he was going to give a lot of items (ex: blankets, linens, towels) to the animal shelter. After about five minutes into meeting Adam, I realized he was extremely kind and knowledgeable in his field. He put me at ease, and reassured me that he would do his utmost to help me. I had been living in my home 18+ years so needless to say I had lots of stuff. Adam arrived with his crew, and immediately took charge to make everything staged, and cleaned ready for sale. The staging of my treasures made me want to buy them all over again. The sale went really well and we were able to sell off a lot of items. "My experience with The Great Estate Company was very positive. Adam, his family and staff were very professional, friendly and knowledgeable of not only the items from my father's estate but also respectful of his memory.
My sister and I both live out of state, so to entrust someone with the task of going thru my father's life belongings was not easy for us. After interviewing several estate sale company's I was left with the feeling that I wouldn't find the right people to come in and not so much take advantage of our absence, but moreover, take advantage of my father, though he had passed over 4 years at the time.
My final interview was with The Great Estate. My first impression of Adam was "this guy's way to young to know anything about an estate sale". But as a courtesy I figured I would listen to what he had to say and thank him for his time and be left to contemplate what to do with this overwhelming task of liquidating my father's life.
I am truly glad I kept an open mind and gave Adam the time to listen to what he had to say. By the end of out conversation I knew I had found the right people for the job. Everything we agreed to they followed thru on. There were no hidden costs and no other agendas, but to sell the contents of my father's estate, which I felt with the other company's I interviewed. But more importantly to us, The Great Estate handled my father's belongings and hid memory with respect, which meant more to use than any monetary value.
In closing, I can't say enough about The Great Estate, Adam, his family and his staff. Not only was this a positive experience in such an emotional task but I left with the feeling that I had made a friend in Adam. And if my father had been alive and met this young enterprising young man that he also would have the same impression of him as I do. I highly recommend The Great Estate.
